If you had the opportunity to tell hundreds of strangers something nice, would you say something or would you just walk away?
Hundreds of bloggers, including myself, share their thoughts with so many people everyday thanks to digital communications.
But what if we were to remove the computer and replace it with a megaphone. Would you still been so keen?
This would be your chance, moving beyond the blogosphere, to say something not about yourself, not about a trend, but to say something that would brighten someone’s day.
Still I ask, would you take the chance or just let it slip?
Well Improv Everywhere wondered just that.
Improv Everywhere is a New York City-based prank collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents.
For their latest mission, they constructed a custom wooden lectern with a megaphone holster and an attached sign that read, “Say Something Nice.” The lectern was placed in public spaces around New York and then left alone. They wanted to see what would happen if New Yorkers were given the opportunity to amplify their voices to “say something nice.”
This is what happened…
Say Something Nice was produced by Improv Everywhere as part of the Guggenheim Museum exhibition stillspotting nyc.

Since I don’t have a megaphone, I thought I’d write something nice to all of you. Thank you for your continuous support. To all the bloggers I’ve come know, to all my readers, you always will inspire me.
